The Dorm is a full-service treatment community providing a supportive bridge between therapeutic care and meaningful participation in daily life. We offer an integrated, therapeutic approach that bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient care. Our independent living and outpatient treatment options are rooted in community participation and individualized therapeutic support.
Our mission is to guide young adults ages 18 to 35 towards greater personal independence through evidence-based clinical therapies, community support and practical skill building.
We do this by:
Providing a full-service treatment community. We offer comprehensive day and evening programming, partial residential and individualized life skills training for young adults looking to further their independence.
Bridging the gaps in current care models. Our flexible supports give clients varying levels of treatment that adapt to their clinical needs and life goals.
Specializing in individualized care. Our team of therapists and practitioners support clients by creating tailor-made treatment plans that meet them where they are – at home, in school, in the community and beyond.
We offer holistic, integrated treatments that reflect the needs of the whole person and not a singular diagnosis or obstacle. Our comprehensive program encompass all aspects of emerging adulthood while incorporating a peer-based community of support.

At The Dorm, we believe that empowering young adults to launch independent lives requires a customized and flexible approach.
We know that change and meaningful development is best achieved through supporting clients where they are right now. This can be literal – with services that transcend outside of a traditional office setting with real-time support, as indicated wherever and whenever a client might need it. It’s also conceptual and reflective of each client’s journey and goals to sustain independence.
Our comprehensive and integrated approach to treatment combines evidence-based clinical therapies, peer-to-peer programming and community support.

Our partial residential program allows eligible young adults 18 and older to live independently in one of our partnered, full-service buildings while benefiting from the clinical support of our team and integrating into a community of like-minded peers. Our supported residential buildings are steps away from our main facilities and allow clients the opportunity to live in their own studio or a 1-bedroom apartment.
Enhancing Core Life Skills
Our independent living clients benefit from individualized in-home clinical support from one of our expert clinicians that focuses on the development of core life skills and activities of daily living including personal hygiene, self care, executive function, nutrition and lifestyle management. This support complements and enhances the clients individual and group-based clinical work by focusing on mastering the daily living skills needed to sustain fulfilling, independent lives.
A Built-In Community
Each of our partnered residential buildings consists of a growing community of Dorm clients who support one another and provide the opportunity for healthy peer-based socialization. It is not uncommon to find our residential clients getting together for movie night or assisting one another with vocational or academic work.
Our unique partial residential program allows clients to remain in their own apartment after successfully completing The Dorm since each lease is signed between the client or family and the building management company. This allows our clients to build upon and sustain the successful living environment they have created while participating at The Dorm.
